The mother is Ashtabhuja Dhari and holds a bow, arrow, lotus-flower, nectar-full urn, kamandal, chakra and mace in her hands respectively. While mother Kushmanda holds a chanting in the eighth hand, which leads to the welfare of Sarvastra Lok.

Method of worship
On this day in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After that, chant the chanting of ‘Om Shanti Namah Mantra’ and take a vow. Now praise the mother with the following mantra.

After that, worship the mother with Durva, sindoor, lamp, fruits, flowers, Akshat, Kumkum etc. Finally perform Aarti and Pray. Keep fast throughout the day. After the Aarti-worship in the evening, perform the Falahar. Religious belief is that by feeding women at home on this day, the fast attains the desired groom.
