Emergency Declaration in Pakistan-Locust Attack Destroying Fields
A state of emergency has been declared in Pakistan, unable to cope with the onslaught of locust destroying the wheat crop in Pakistan.

Locusts are destroying crops, including wheat grown by farmers in various parts of Pakistan’s southern province, from Sindh to the northeastern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Millions of hectares of farmland have been severely affected by grasshoppers that have devastated crops in 20 years. This has cost tens of thousands of rupees to thousands of farmers.
An emergency declaration has been issued in the country to deal with this locust attack.
“We are currently facing a grasshopper attack that has not existed in 20 years,”
Foreign Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said. We have declared a national emergency to deal with this threat.
Meanwhile, the country’s food security minister, Mahmud Kushroh Bahdir, said: ‘The grasshopper attack is unprecedented. This is a very dangerous environment, ”he said.
